Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) has been one of Lola’s primary focuses in her 17 years of teaching in the public schools. She recognizes that no child or adult can really learn unless they feel safe! So much amazing research has been done on the power and importance of building trust in your relationships before you can learn, take risks, and soar! Through years and years of self-study, trial and error, and participation in Professional Learning Communities, Lola has developed her own methods for transforming schools’ SEL programs.
Lola has helped develop and edit an entire PreK – 12 SEL curricula and has been on the front lines teaching social-emotional lessons since 2005. She has seen with her own eyes the positive effects that careful and dedicated time to one’s internal needs can have.
